    This course focuses on Jewish life in Europe and America, based on translated fiction, poetry, memoirs, or plays. You don't need to know Yiddish to enjoy the literature! Each semester we'll focus on well-known writers such as Isaac Bashevis Singer, I. L. Peretz, or Shelom Alaichem; we'll also cover some not as well known. You'll discover new material each semester - just bring your questions, ideas, and interest in Yiddish literature!

    Whether you're looking to brush up on the basics or kick-start a new hobby, this course is the one for you. Working at your own pace, and under the instruction of a professional musician and music educator, you will learn such skills as reading music, basic chords, fingerpicking, and simple blues techniques. Start playing songs by the end of your first lesson. No experience necessary.BOOK REQUIRES: Alfred's Basic Guitar Method Book 1.

    Budding home chefs will learn the essentials of knife handling. Learn what knives are best suited for cooking and butchering and how to properly hold the knife while practicing safety. Students will be instructed on safest ways to chop, dice, julienne, and slice, and learn why these unique cuts of your foods can add or take away from the appearance of your finished dishes. Knife sharpening and the importance of sharp knives will be discussed. Whether you are planning home events or a large family get together, knife skills are essential. This workshop will help alleviate any apprehension you may feel while guiding you to a safer, more efficient kitchen. Students should bring knives used at home with cutting board, towel, and apron. Students will be asked to bring food items the second and third class.

    In this course you will have the opportunity to understand the origins of Reiki and receive its healing benefits. You will also learn and experience other healing modalities such as: Qigong, Light Language, experiential meditations, introduction to your galactic origins, and learning how to connect to your spirit guides. Whether you are a certified energy healer or you simply wish to increase your spiritual awareness, this course will open doorways to that area of thought.
