The Impaired Driver Program (IDP) at Nassau Community College is designed for individuals who need to fulfill requirements set by the New York Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) after receiving an alcohol or drug-related driving violation.
The program consists of weekly classes, each lasting approximately 2 to 2½ hours, covering various topics related to impaired driving. Experienced instructors create an engaging learning environment, promoting open discussions and providing valuable resources to help participants understand the risks associated with driving under the influence. You are expected to attend all classes in the section you are registered for. Participants that cannot attend the first class meeting will need to reschedule to a new start date via email: idp@ncc.edu,
YOU MUST BE REGISTERED AT DMV IN ORDER TO REGISTER OR THE PROGRAM.
Rules regarding attendance, completion and potential drops from the program can be found on DMV's site: https://dmv.ny.gov/tickets/about-impaired-driver-program
